AILO will be available as a product by the 1st quarter of 2020. It will come in two product versions:
- A pure software for self installing on a PC and
- as a 19 inch rackmount device.
In both versions one has to choose the number of AILO cores one want to operate. It is possible to extend an AILO after installation to operate more AILO cores.
The software bundle for self installation comes with a hardware dongle as a copy protector. Also the 19 inch rackmount device has such a hardware copy protection. This dongle controls the number of cores AILO can operate in parallel. To extend an AILO, only a new license number must be entered using a dialog in the AILO software user interface.
For those customers who want to install AILO on own hardware, it is important to know the requirements this hardware should fulfill:
- at least 2 main CPU cores with about 3 GHz processor clock
- a main board with a full sized PCIe interface slot for the GPU (with more than one PCIe lane)
- at least 6 GB of RAM connected to the CPU
- at least a RTX 2060 GPU of NVIDIA
- USB interfaces and MIDI or/and network interface
- SSD harddisk with at least 100 GB (for Windows and AILO)
- Windows 10 Home installed
The AILO rackmount device will meet these requirements. In addition, the rackmount device will have:
- additional air ventilation and filtering devices
- solid connectors for USB, network and MIDI at the back
- protection against vibrations
- 3 years of warranty on all hardware parts including the GPU. If the GPU type built in is not available anymore, it will be replaced by a newer one with same operational characteristics
AILO needs additional hardware and setup tasks:
- A light mixing desk (currently ONYX is supported and tested; ONYX can be used for 4 DMX universes for free - there are no further costs)
- the connected light mixing desk (ONYX) must have programmed cue lists and play buttons which AILO will remote control
- A USB microphone (I am using the behringer C-1U) or a direct connection to the sound mixing desk
- either a monitor and keyboard/mouse connected to the AILO-PC for displaying the user interface or a second PC connected by network to AILO running the Chrome web browser which displays the AILO user interface (also a tablet or smart phone can be used) Hint: The Micrososft egde browser does not work together with AILO.
AILO is not only software or hardware, AILO has also services to offer:
- on site installation and setup service for AILO and the light mixing desk, fitting to the configuration of your light system
- on site AILO training on real shows or dance evenings, with instruction to on site staff
- service and repair for the rackmount device
One word about the on site staff: If you are an owner of a club or concert site and you want to use AILO in a high quality for your shows, be aware that your staff my train AILO to be not as good as it can be. The staff could have the fear that they will be replaced by AILO and will train AILO to do wrong light show decisions. If you want to be sure that AILO is doing good light shows, let it be trained by a foreign light operator or use our service to train AILO for you. Even if AILO was trained doing bad shows, one can train it again as often as you want until it works like you want it to do.
